It is hard enough to lend to your circle of friends; I am not sure I would trust a complete stranger on the internet! I believe the logistics of renting commodity items, especically smaller value items, makes the concept untenable.

Sure its a nice idea, but I don’t think it will catch on with the mainstream for the above reasons.
