Reducing hospital boredom

leave a comment

Post by OrangeGirl

Is someone you know unfortunate enough to be stuck in hospital?

Jump onto rentoid and rent them a portable DVD player, some DVD’s, a handheld games console, books, or even a portable CD player to help pass the time. The items will be very much appreciated as we all know how much fun hospitals are dont we ;-) And renting something is much more enviromentally sound than buying flowers that will only be thrown in the bin a few days later.

C’mon, give something to your loved one that not only will keep then entertained while recovering and stimulate their mind instead of looking at four walls. Most of all it shows you are thinking of them and care about their sanity. And who knows, one day you might be stuck in bed and yor friend will come to the rescue with items from www.rentoid.com

Get your 12 seconds of fame

one comment

There’s a great website called 12seconds that is - www.12seconds.tv

You can record a 12 second speil about yourself, an idea a business or anything really. So the rentoid CEE - which stands for Chief Espresso Maker ‘Steve’ - did a little 12 second spot taliking about the belief he has in what he does - rentoid that is… well you can click here to see it for yourself.

In fact - we’d love to hear what you think….

Why not do a 12 second spot on rentoid.com giving us your thoughts - good / bad / how we can improve and we’ll post it up here on rentoid for your 15 minutes of fame - well, 12 seconds actually.

Victorian Police Hummers…

Here’s a photo of the the latest weapon the Victorian Police have employed to reduce alcohol “fueled” violent crime. Are they kidding?

The rentoid view on Hummers is clear, and you can read about it here. You’ll notice we let the Hummer lovers and hater post comments as the please. We don’t moderate opinions.

But the Police Justification on why they have got the Hummers on board is laughable:

“The idea of going to the Hummers is that it’s about trying to measure visible impact so we’ve got to try to introduce something which might look different to our current fleet of vehicles. We want to be visibly seen and we want to make sure the police out on the streets are recognisable and that we do reassure the public that we’re there.” Asst Commissioner Gary Jamieson said

Don’t the sirens and big big blue letters saying POLICE already do that?

Here’s some of the comments we found about the issue on the www.caradvice.com.au

Tim said: That excuse is just pathetically laughable….G-Unit style aye.

Austin said: You don’t need to transport suspects anyway, they just roll right by in their hummer with their glock out the window popping caps in hommie’s arses…

Frenchie says: Maybe they can mount a machine gun on the top! That’ll give them more presence!

Neil Said: Yeah because us Melbournians have really been calling out for the cops to go patrolling the streets in H3’s - hwy not just substitute one of the patrol cars for a bright-coloured SV6 or XR6? Of course what else can we expect from a government that continues to ignore our health & public transport issues
We have a more serious problems than a lack of publicity - how about more coppers for our growing population?

John said: Lol, ‘police kill 3 in high speed chase after attempting a pit manoeuvre in a hummer’.

AC Cobra said: WHAT A JOKE, I’m so scared AHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!, now police are driving hummers, what are they going to to do with them besides wasting many public tax paying fuel dollars, our average copper will grow such an ego trip chasing public off the road with big brick’s on wheels…They should be driving battery operated Toyo Priass Golf carts, poor toyoda, the company just dosen’t receive enough recognition or media hype these days.

RA said: Nice approach to sustainability and practicality, I realise that these are not H2’s but still.

Stav said: Waste of Taxpayers Money whats Next F430???

Anthony Said: Will GM pay the fuel bill too?

The Salesman said: Wow this is a great idea. But why stop at Hummers? If you really want to be seen lets get police tanks. Might not help on the high speed chase so lets modify them with NOS. Suddenly i dont feel like going out for a drink anymore.

WVB said: The Bl**dy things look like ridiculous radio station ‘giveaway’ trucks from 10 years ago.
….here you here’s your free handcuffs.

Things that make ya go Hmmm!

School Holiday ideas

one comment

Posted by Orange Girl

Every parent’s nightmare is soon to begin… something evil, something detrimental to every parents sanity…. the dreaded SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. And for the non parent rentoider…we envy you!

Favourite school holiday mantra from your children.

I’M BORED. (please read in long whining tone)

So, let rentoid help. And yes we can. In ways you never believed.

4  step plan to a “IM BORED” free school holiday.

STEP 1.

Bribe your kids. Oh yes, bribes are a parents best friend. Plan a street party with all the hair pulling out parents in your street and have a rentoid party. (below are the extra steps to give you the desired stress free school holidays).

STEP 2.

Tell the kids to oraganise the party themselves. Make lists of things they want for said party, then you can get onto rentoid and rent the stuff required. (Below are some party themes you can try)

STEP 3.

Rent the stuff, get your neighbours to split the cost.

STEP 4.

Sit back, and watch the kids have a great holiday, while all the big people get to know each other. And why not make it an annual event.

Bring back the street party I say!!!

Ideas for party themes

Carnival…
Jumping castles, side show alley, followed by a dj and disco.

Circus, unicycles, shows ( performed by the kdis of course) side shows,

Picnic
BBQ, egg and spoon races, sack races, hot dog cookers, donut fryers.

I’m sure your ‘motivated kids’ can come up with some great ideas as well.

Cheers, Orangegirl

Rentoid testing

leave a comment

Ok - rentoid is new to alot of people. And many of you are curious how it works. Which is fine…. but it is clear that we need to provide a ‘better’ how it works space on the sight - so we’ll do it and make it clear. Our fault.

But in the interim if you want to test rentoid please do this:

Do a transaction with yourself. It’s possible and wont cost you anything. The system will recognise this and ignore it.

It wont send a false lead to one of our members which very uncool.

Thanks for you help.

the rentoid team.
